Nenad Simic Biography
Interdisciplinary architect with projects covering wide range of programs, scales and contexts.
Simic designed and built several dozens of hi-end residential and commercial interiors across Europe. His architectural projects were exhibited at La Biennale di Venezia, Storefront New York, Milan Design Week, Maraya Art Centre UAE, G2E Las Vegas… He won the Yourope Award for the EU Embassy in Beijing project, which he received in the European Parliament in Brussels. As one of the winners of the Sudapan Competition, Simic took part in the research/residence program at the IAAC (Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia), with focus on urbanism. He holds a Master of Architecture (M.Arch. / Dipl.-Ing. Arch.) from the University of Belgrade.
As Novomatic’s Chief Architect for SE Europe, Simic managed the foundation of the company’s in-house architectural office, implemented Building Information Modeling (BIM), redefined the design style of Admiral Clubs, and led the construction of the Admiral Atrium Belgrade, the biggest and most advanced gambling club in the region.
At the internationally renowned RAW-NYC Architects (New York-Dubai), Simic held the Senior Architect position and worked closely with Raya Ani, the company’s Founder and AIA Middle East Director on many innovative large-scale projects globally, winning several prestigious awards.
As a Co-founder and Design Director of Brutal Office, he orchestrated the work of the avantgarde practice, which during its operation won several international awards and collaborated with globally acclaimed artists such as Miami’s Monad Studio (Eric Goldemberg & Veronica Zalcberg).
He is the father of the young musician Kristijan Simic and currently lives in Berlin.
